Days 2-6: Each morning, after a hearty breakfast, we will launch our brightly coloured kayak flotilla and begin our day of exploring the stunning Desolation Sound. After a morning's paddle we will stop to enjoy lunch on one of the many rocky islets or by a sparkling fresh water lake only a short walk from the sea. Every day will bring a new array of sights and surprises as we travel through the glacial fed waters. Afternoons may involve more paddling, more swimming in a refreshing lake, a snooze on a beach or simply relaxing aboard the Columbia III. Curious harbour seals are residents of the area along with a Kayakers approaching mothershiplarge river estuary is also an option on this tour. If the weather permits, we stunning array of intertidal life and birds. Occasionally, the elusive harbour porpoise also pass through the area. Visiting the spectacular Toba Inlet with is will also visit the sea-bird nesting sanctuary on Mitelnatch Island; home to many seals, sealions and thousands of seagulls. This semi-arid jewel located in the center of the northern Gulf of Georgia even has cactus!

Day 7: This is our last morning to enjoy the peaceful environment of Desolation Sound. A final morning's paddle will conclude the week before we board the Columbia III and head for civilization. Lunch will be served on route back to Campbell River. Our approximate return time is between 1 pm and 3 pm but please note that this cannot always be guaranteed as the weather and wildlife will play a role in determining when we get back.
